The First ChessWithPass™ Tournament Successfully Concluded

July 19, 2026

Today marks a historic milestone for the ChessWithPass™ project.

On July 19, 2026, the world's first official ChessWithPass™ tournament successfully concluded.

For the first time in history, players competed in a chess tournament where every participant had one additional strategic possibility — the freedom to consciously pass one move during the game.

A new chapter in chess has officially begun.

🏆 Our First Champion

We are proud to congratulate pycmonster, who became the first ChessWithPass™ Tournament Champion.

By winning the inaugural tournament, pycmonster became the first player ever to have their name recorded in the history of competitive ChessWithPass™.

As a token of appreciation for helping launch this new chapter, the winner received a friendly commemorative prize.

Congratulations!

Every Great Movement Starts Small

Every world championship once had its first champion.

Every global community once had its first few participants.

Today our first tournament brought together four pioneering players.

Tomorrow it may be dozens.

Soon hundreds.

One day, perhaps millions of players around the world will compete using the additional strategic freedom offered by ChessWithPass™.

History rarely begins with crowds.

It begins with the first brave participants.

More Than Chess

ChessWithPass™ introduces something that traditional chess has never offered:

The freedom to consciously choose between acting and not acting.

For more than 1,500 years, players were required to make a move every turn.

ChessWithPass™ adds one new strategic dimension:

the ability to pause.

Sometimes action creates opportunities.

Sometimes restraint creates even greater ones.

Learning to recognize the difference is a skill that reaches far beyond the chessboard and into everyday decision-making.

Through the game, we practice a new way of thinking.

One that values not only action, but conscious choice.
